DUBLIN

Good morning! Today we talk about Dublin! Ireland's capital.

Dublin experiences a maritime climate with cool winters, mils summers, and a lack of temperature extremes.

The most important buildings are:

O’Connell Street

O’Connell Street is a nice avenue with spacious pavement where the people go for a walk whenever they want. Also it’s one of the principal commercial zones of the city.

In this street we find a lot of monuments like The Spire, this is a big spire that rises 120 metres.

Trinity College

The Trinity College is the most ancient and important university of the city. Also this university is very famous around the world.

Important people studied in this university, like Samuel Beckett, Bram Stoker or Oscar Wilde.

One of the things that stand out is the Trinity College library where there are a lot of manuscript and important books.

Dublin Castle

Dublin Castel is situated in the centre of Dublin. It has a lot of functions like military fortress, real residence, court of law, etc. But now it’s use to celebrate state receptions.

Decorative Art and History Museum

In this museum we find a lot of objects with social history, economic and military of Ireland. One of the most important part of the museum is “Soliders and Chiefs”, where we learn about the military life of Ireland since 1550 until XXI century.

Cathedral Christ Church

Also it’s known as Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, it’s the most ancient cathedral in Dublin. Under this cathedral it’s situated a big crypt of XII century. In this crypt we can see some expositions.

St Stephens Green

It’s created in 1664, it’s one of the most ancient and public park, where is situated in the centre of the city, in the end of Grafton Street. In this park we can relax, drink and see the beautiful nature.

Transport of Dublin

There are a lot of different transports but the best transport are the buses. This transport is the only option to arrive where you would like to you. One important thing is that you must have the exact money because they don’t return the change.

The Amazing Budapest!

Hi travel mates!!

Today we present the amazing Budapest!! How everybody knows is the capital of Hungary!!

Last March we travelled to this strange and curious city.
We discovered that at first the city was divided in two parts: Buda and Pest. Danube river was the border and in the middle of the river there is an island called Margarita. Today this three  pieces of land are BUDAPEST.

The Buda side is the quietest one and it's called like the old castle that crowns it. This castle has been remodeled many times and has a long history behind, since the first palace of the Hungarian kings. This district is also famous for their medieval and baroque houses.
In other way the Pest side is the most populated, the enviroment is more social and you can find more shops. But surprisenly the nights are very quiet.
We also have visited the Margarita Island and we found a beautiful natural setting and the city zoo. You can tour the island with a pedal car for a reasonable price. We guarantee it!! Was a fun experience and we've enjoyed more closely the nature.

In this city there are several sites that are World Heritage, like the Buda Castle and the Heroes Square, some of them also are the symbols that identify Budapest in addition the Parliament (the third world's largest) at the foot of the river and the Chain Bridge, the oldest and most emblematic of the city. But Budapest is very famous for their spas that remained since the Roman Empire.

The lenguage spoken in the city is Hungarian and people don't use much English, much less Spanish. So we found it very difficult to communicate. Budapest is pretty cheap compared to other European capitals: museums, food, transport,...

One of themost fun things we did in Budapest was travelling on a bus with tourists walking on land ans water! On land and water? A bus? Yes a bus!!!

Eat in Budapest

Something we found curious Budapest, was a mass in cylindrical form cooked in stalls on the streets. This meal is called KÜRTÖSKALÁCS and is a sweet dough that is eaten as a dessert. It's great when you put cinnamon flavor, as we ate.

Another good thing to eat in Budapest is famous pizza LANGOS. It's like a pizza, but the flavor of the mass is the same as hotcakes. You can put the ingredients you want as ham, cheese, tomato,etc.

One of the most important things that you have to know about this city, is that the national currency of Hungary are the Florines.
 Also Euros have more monetary value than Florins, so you win with the exchange.

For less money you can spend a few days in Budapest enjoying places and great food that you'll love!!!

Hawaii

Hello, in this post we will talk about Hawaii. Basic issues as where is located, important things, and the experience.

Hawaii is located in Oceania and It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, the capital is Honolulu.  The official languages are english and hawaiian.  Summer in Hawaii would be from May to October and the winter cover from November to April. However, the average summer temperature is about 30 degrees and in winter is about 25 °. Still, it is important to know that during the winter nights temperatures can drop to 10º degrees, so it is important to bring warm clothing if you intend to go out at night in Hawaii.

There are eight islands of Hawaii that you can visit and go on vacation: Ni'ihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kaho' olawe, Maui, and Hawaii. This island were formed from volcanic activity initiated at an undersea magma source.

Some of this islands can't be visited

Ni'ihau is a personal property of Robinson's family and there are two hundred inhabitants. In 1915 it was closed to visitors and nowadays the only way to visit it is by taking a half-day helicopter tour but they can't have any contact with natives.

Kaho'olawe was used as a bombing range by U.S.Navy since 1941, after the attack on Pearl Harbor. And finally in 1990, George Bush ordered a stop to this but the island can't be visited yet.

I went there when I was ten and I loved it. The most beautiful of it are the beaches, white sand, crystal and warm sea, and there are places with great waves to surf and very calm just to enjoy it. I visited four of this islands:

Hawaii or Big Island is the biggest island in Hawaii and its main characteristic is the volcanic apparence, it was different than the others. There are some places with volcanic ash or lava but also it has vegetation and very good beaches.

I also visited Oahu that, apart of its beaches, it was more developed than the others, the most important city is Honolulú.

The biggest and most famous luau is in Maui, it is a traditional party of this islands when they cook a pig under the land and ash and meanwhile they do differents activities. Finally, at night, they dinner with different performance of native people.

Finally, Kauai is called the Garden Island because of its vegatation, it has got tropical forest appart of the beaches. A very beautiful trip is to overfly it with an helicopter.

MSC SPLENDIDA!


Hello!
In this entry we talk about our cruise which called MSC Splendida.It was very luxurious and huge because it has sixteen floors and at the top of the cruise there were pools, jacuzzi and the night club. We enjoyed this experience with our partners of the early chidhood education's course. We go on board in Barcelona and first stop was Marsella in France.

In MARSELLA we go to visit Notredame de la Guarde and the centre of the city. In the centre we purchased souvenirs and sooaps, the typical soap of Marsella.
The next day we stopped at GENOVA!!!!!! Genova is an italian city where we visited the port, Piazza Ferrari and the centre of the city. We ate in a typical restaurant where cooks the best pasta we  have ever tasted.. We ate spaghetti and gnocchi al pesto. All was delicious.

The next stop was NAPOLI also in Italy! We exploited this city to go to Pompeia. We visit all the shambles. It was very nice and different. Our leading was Manuela, an italian woman and she explained the history of that city which was covered by Vesubio volcano that began erupting.
On afternoon we visit Napoli where we saw the galleries, the centre and the spanish neighbourhood. All was awesome.

The forth day we continue in Italy. Was the turn of...the island of Sicily!!! We visited the city of MESSINA where there were a lot of churches and we came over tho of them. Also there was an amazing lookout from where we could see the whole city. 

The last stop was... a city that is situated in the north-eastern of Africa. Do you know what is the city that we are talking about? We give us a clue, the country and the city have the same name.

We are talking about TUNISSIA!!! We visit this wonderful city and a very special villaage which is called Sidi Bou Said. This village is very similar to Mykonos, it's situated in Greece because all of the windows and the doors were blue.

The last night in the cruise we said goodbye to all of the personal that worked there. We missed them a lot, an we took a photograph with te waiter, the entertainer and the service room. Our waiter was a russian guy called Dimitri and he was very nice and funny.

On fifth of April we returned to Barcelona. Was a very special experience for us. We would like to repeat it in the future.

MADRID!

In this third post we're going to talk about MADRID!

Madrid is the capital of Spain and the Spanish city that attracts more visitors. With over 4 million visitors in 2013, Madrid sits in ninth place in Europe. 

The number of tourists from Madrid grows year after year due to a perfect combination of cultural, monumental and leisure.

Some places that you cannot leave to go if you visit Madrid, are:

- LA PUERTA DEL SOL: It's one of the most famous squares in Madrid. Here you will find interesting points of interest such as El Oso de Madrid and Kilómetro Cero.

- LA PLAZA MAYOR: It's located a few meters from Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace and is one of the oldest squares in Spain built by Juan de Herrera and Juan Gomez de Mora in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

-LA GRAN VÍA: It's the most famous street in Madrid, there we will find the more important cinemas and theaters in the city. "A street that never sleeps". 

- EL RETIRO: It's the most famous park in Madrid since opening to the public in the nineteenth century, if you go with kids you've to visit it!

- LA PUERTA DE ALCALA: It's one of the most representative monuments of Madrid, it was built by Francisco Sabatini during the reign of Carlos III.

- EL RASTRO: This is an outdoor market on Sundays and public holidays celebrated in the historic center of Madrid, in the popular district of La Latina.

In addition, Madrid can boast of having some of the most important museums in the world, we will present you the main ones:

- MUSEO DEL PRADO: is the most famous museum in Madrid and one of the most important museums of world art. Among its artists are painters such as Velazquez and Goya.

 

- MUSEO REINA SOFIA: this museum offers to the visitors an extensive collection of works of contemporary Spanish art. Among its outstanding artists names like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Joan Miro.

Paris!

Hello! We are here again but now this post will be destined to Paris!

Paris is the capital of France and it's situated on the Seine River at the heart of the Île-de-France region also known as the région parisienne. The Paris region (Île-de-France) is, along with London, one of the most important economic centers in Europe. It is one of the cities which is said to be the most lovely of the world.

The Moulin Rouge is a cabaret in Paris. It has always been situated in the same place at Pigalle (18th district), near Montmartre. This cabaret named the film Moulin Rouge.



And finally, the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.










Paris is hidely enormous beautiful place but due to its vast extension it is impossible to include all its important points.
